If reports are anything to go by, Apple's iPhone 7 will have a longer battery life and will replace headphone jack with new speakers.

According to The Independent report, the tech company Apple will apply Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI) shields to major chips inside the upcoming smartphone. EMI shields cover components with a very thin metal layer that decreases signals that happen due to the interference.

Reports suggest that the Cupertino-based company has used EMI shielding in the iPhone for a while now with a few individual chips and portions of the iPhone circuit board featuring the shielding. However, according to new reports, the iPhone 7 will feature the technology on a wide array of its chips.

Adding EMI shields to components inside the device could lead to better Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Cellular connectivity. In addition, the EMI shields may decrease the amount of radiation exposure users receive when making calls on their devices.

Rumor has it that the upcoming iPhone 7 will be waterproof and users will be able to touch its touchscreen with their wet fingers. The smartphone is rumored to come with a 4.7-inch display and an A10 processor.

Apple iPhone 7 will have 3 GB of RAM and will retain its metal unibody. However, it will not have a microSD slot card for expanding the memory.

Rumors are also doing the rounds that the handset will come with a 12-megapixel camera when it launches.

According to reports, the iPhone 7 may not have a headphone jack. Reports suggest that Apple will probably sell adapters so that users can connect the old 3.5mm headphones to the device's Lightning port.

The upcoming iPhone 7 is expected to have two speakers. According to a MacRumors report, a second speaker will reside where the old 3.5mm headphone jack used to be.

It is said that the new device will cost at least $650. The iPhone 6s without a two-year contract costs $649, and the iPhone 6s Plus costs $749. According to many reports, the software company will sell the upcoming device for a similar price.

It is expected that the new iPhone 7 will launch in September this year.
