George R.R. Martin is seemingly dedicated in finishing his much-awaited book "Winds Of Winter" as soon as possible. The world renowned author has declared that he has put a halt on all other writing projects until he finishes his sixth book of " A Song Of Ice And Fire" series.

"I am not writing anything until I deliver WINDS OF WINTER. Teleplays, screenplays, short stories, introductions, forewords, nothing," mentioned the 67-year-old in his blog. His last book "A Dance With Dragons" came out in 2011.

It was clear among Martin's fans since past few months that the long-awaited book cannot be delivered before the beginning of "Game Of Thrones" season 6. It now turns out that the book cannot be delivered in 2016 and fans should expect its release sometime in 2017, just in time before the premier of "Game Of Thrones" season 7.

"You're disappointed, and you're not alone," mentioned the author. "But no one could possibly be more disappointed than me."

The author also metioned that besides the readers, his publishers, agents, translators, HBO channel and his editors are also bitterly disappointed with the inordinate delay in finishing the book.

Meanwhile, Martin so far seems fully dedicated in completing "Winds Of Winter." The author has cancelled a number of appearances and even skipped writing an episode of "A Game of Thrones" to focus on writing the book.

Martin is admittedly not even going to accept the honorary degree bestowed on him by Texas A&M University till the book is done with, Winter Is Coming reported.

The author also mentioned that fans need not worry since the show and the book will not overlap, since the TV adaptation of "The Song of Ice and Fire" series has diverged.

Rumors are also circulating that Martin is considering to hire a co-author to finish the mammoth project, given the complications in the plot. Some tabloids have even claimed that Neil Gaiman, the famous author of "The Sandman," "Good Omens," among others, has already started helping the former and was even spotted in Martin's hometown, New Mexico.
