The latest Clint Eastwood film "American Sniper" has been getting a lot of criticisms and unfavorable comments online.

This is despite the fact that the movie, which was directed by Eastwood and starred by Bradley Cooper as Chris Kyle, the real life American Sniper and US Navy SEAL, was a competently made film, according to Huffington Post.

Cooper's performance as an actor playing the character of Kyle was natural and unpretentious act, being him as modest and humble person. The scenes were intense, Cooper acting out the sniper's moves to do the specialized task and the gunfight scenes same as those found on almost every military film.

The "American Sniper" first screened earlier this month and had stirred the online population with criticisms and reviews from supporters and bashers alike. The box-office hit military film surprisingly gained $105 million on its opening weekend is now in hotspot for both liberal and conservative views with basis on the Iraqi war.

Kyle's life was the spotlight in the entire movie exposing his several deployments to Iraq. The film revealed his 160-kills record before his honorable discharge in 2009 after 10 years of service in the US military. The film brusquely illustrated the war trauma such as PTSD, and the realities being experienced by the US veterans.

Many critics have stated that the film was filled by unhealthy and unshameful glorifying of war while showing the deep disconnection between civilians and the military people, The Christian Science Monitor reported.

Michael Moore, a film maker, expressed his objection on his tweet after the movie was aired. He grieves that his uncle was killed by a sniper in World War 2, and that they were told that snipers are cowards and will shoot people in the back. They are not heroes.

On the other hand, former Vice President candidate Sarah Palin spoke to People Magazine telling that Chris Kyle is a real life friend. She talked about the impact Kyle has on her son Track who was deployed to Iraq in 2008.

"[My son Track] has met enough 'celebrities' to not be star struck, so when he said the most impressive opportunity [he's] had over all these years was meeting Chris Kyle - and he's 'the one' Track really wanted to meet - that said it all," Palin told People Magazine.

"American Sniper" got six Oscar nominations in the Academy Awards including Best Picture.
