Gia Guidice released a music video "Just 13," which is a tribute to her mother who is in prison, according to E! Online.
Gia collaborated with her band 3KT and tackled the difficulties of growing up in front of the cameras since her mom Teresa is a reality star from "The Real Housewives f New Jersey." In the clip, family photos were shown and Teresa blew a kiss for her daughter and said "it's not saying goodbye, it's saying see you soon." Gia stood in a black background and sung with a soulful melody.
Gia talked about her journey in creating the emotional song. The teenager opened up her thoughts to her voice teacher and discussed what she is going through. Gia added that she wants her fans to be aware that she is doing fine but she also wants to share a glimpse of her life, according Access Hollywood.
The young singer narrated her relationship with her mother in an interview. Gia said they are really close to each other and even described their relationship as similar to "sisters." Although, her mother chose to keep some things from her, Gia supported her all the way.
In addition, Gia's sisters knew nothing about their mom's difficulties. The younger siblings would see Teresa in magazines but it was only Gia who was confused since she is the eldest.
Teresa is now in prison for fraud and the reality star will serve her sentence for 15 months. Gia revealed that emails are their form of communication. The sisters can talk to their mother everyday and it greatly eases the feelings of missing their mom.
All throughout the challenge in their family life, the young singer praised her father's strong personality. Gia's father held the family together and she described him as the "rock."
"Just 13" was published on YouTube on Jan. 23 and gained over 39,000 views.
