Since the first iPhone was introduced in 2007, the arrival of a new model has become an anticipated event and this 2016 the iPhone 7 (and 7 Plus) release date will not be any different. But the just unveiled trio of the Samsung Galaxy S7, the LG G5 and the HP Elite x3 could convince many to forget about the next iPhone.

Powered by Google Android and Microsoft Windows 10, the three handsets offer unique mobile experience not found on the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus and most likely the same goes for the 2016 iPhones. Listed below are the killer features that likely to slay the iPhone:

Samsung Galaxy S7

Reports said that in unboxing the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, Samsung may have kept the look and build of the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge but the newer handsets are downright better than their predecessors and the current iPhone offerings.

For starters, the S7 Super AMOLED screen is way ahead of the Retina in iPhone that Apple once boasted was the best in its class. With AMOLED in both the S7 and S7 Edge, the display is vivid, crisp and sharp all the time. Experts said the Galaxy S7 is the best smartphone screen around and Apple has a lot of work to do in the iPhone 7 it aims to edge out its chief rival.

The iPhone maker must also take note that the new camera system deployed with the GS7 beats the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus shooters, according to experts. And it helps too that the Samsung flagship boasts of waterproofing features, super-fast wireless charging and expandable memory - features absent on the latest iPhone and likely will not be on the iPhone 7.

LG G5

Easily, the LG G5 takes the honor as not only the most innovative Android but also the most unique smartphone to come ever, thanks mostly to its modular design that allows easy replacement of battery and other expansion options.

Two things emphasized by LG with its new flagship are its camera prowess that again thanks to the expansion mode can produce DSLR-quality images and its ability to playback audio files in high-definition. Another thing going for the LG G5 is the possibility of if being repurposed as one of the Nexus 2016 smartphones that will give the handset a vanilla Android flavor, which is the kind preferred by most Android fans.

HP Elite x3

When Microsoft released Windows 10 July of 2016, the tech giant made sure that users will rave about the operating system's feature of transforming a mobile phone into a full-pledged desktop machine, given the mobile device is laced with powerful hardware specs. The HP Elite x3 just made that promise a reality. The device, powered by Windows 10 Mobile, is a phablet, a notebook and workhorse desktop rolled into one, HP said.

And in keeping with its Elite label, which also reads Premium, the HP Elite x3 is unboxed with solid build and quality with the bonus of longer than usual battery life. Now in terms of upscale finish or even optimal battery use, the iPhone 6S and the next iPhone can duke it out with the Elite x3. But it remains to be seen if the iPhone 7 on release date will also function as a smartphone, a laptop and a desktop like the HP Elite x3 does.
