After many days of speculation, Nintendo has decided to pull back the curtains on "Pokémon" by planning a "Pokémon" Direct presentation that contains big "Pokémon" news on Feb. 26.

The report was communicated through a message on Nintendo Direct website which is one of the channels where the presentation will be broadcast. The event will reportedly get publicized under "Celebration of 20 years of Pokemon." As asserted by the company, "Pokémon" fans should anticipate for big news.

According to Game Spot, the "Pokémon" franchises will celebrate their 20th anniversary on Feb. 27 which is exactly 20 years since the first debut back in 1996. On the same day, "Pokémon" games Blue, Red and Yellow will be unveiled through the 3DS eshop. Nintendo will as well release a fresh 3DS system with its subject matter based on "Pokémon." The system is anticipated to include preinstalled copies of the Red and Blue.

While Nintendo Direct will serve as one celebration of the "Pokémon" franchises' 20th anniversary, the "Pokémon" company aired a 30-second ad at the Super Bowl 50 revealing that there would be more to remark. The ad was quite vague, however, and it appears that "Pokémon "fans were stirred by the message.

Given that this year is the company's anniversary, gaming fans have conceived a notion that Nintendo may release a new "Pokémon" game. Fans also conveyed through several forums that even if "Ruby" and "Sapphire" had nothing wrong with them, they were just remakes. Therefore, they are eagerly waiting for something that they have never played before.

Not long ago, a rumor about the new "Pokémon Rainbow" has started spreading with the assertion that it will take on as the title of the new "Pokémon" game. The hearsays claim that "Pokémon Rainbow" may launch later this year. However, the rumor has been termed as shaky since it was obtained from an obscure source from a random YouTube channel. All the same, considering the anniversary, many still emphasize that the prospection a new "Pokémon" game makes sense.

In the Nintendo Direct 2016, Nintendo might as well discuss the rumored offerings during the briefing if the news is genuine. Another possibility is that Nintendo may decide to dedicate some more space to the "Pokémon" tournament, a "Pokémon" game for Wii U that is expected to launch in March.
