Unsurprisingly, the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge unboxed to rave reviews that easily it is now regarded as the best smartphone around. But how the Android flagship would actually perform against its chief rival, that is when Apple finally unpacks both the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

The result is predictable. Like in 2015, the 2016 iPhones will remain the smartphone champ and the reasons are provided below:

Mighty A10 processing chip

The Galaxy S7 runs on either a Snapdragon 820 or an Exynos 8890 mobile processor and both proved the powerful engines that they are as shown in a new AnTuTu testing result. The benchmark report indicated that in terms of performance, the SD 820, Exynos 8890 and Apple's A9 chip are in near-equal standing with Qualcomm's creation enjoying a slight edge.

But when translated to the real-world setting, the data will mean that the margins between the chips are blurred but with the A9 chip actually gaining the upper hand, mostly thanks to the hardware's tight integration with the iOS platform. And that reads significant advantage in overall performance, which is one area that Apple flagship is known for, BGR said in a report.

So the minimum expectation is for the upcoming A10 application processor to again best the competition as BGR said: "We can't help but be excited for the A10 that Apple has optimized for this year's generation of new iPhones and iPads, a processor that's supposed to outperform its predecessor."

OLED on next iPhone

Samsung unpacked its latest flagship with a mainstay feature that impresses even the experts - AMOLED display, which makers for richer color rendition on the Galaxy S7. Pitted against the iPhone 6S, the GS7 will be the runaway winner in this respect that's because "OLED screens make for a beautiful picture because they reproduce better, deeper, and richer colors than the LCD technology that's currently used in iPhones," according to Business Insider.

However, OLED is likely to find its way to Apple's flagship smartphone real soon as the report pointed to the ongoing discussions between the iPhone maker and top OLED producers - that would be Samsung and LG display.

If a deal would come into fruition, Apple fans will soon unbox a flagship iOS smartphone that boasts of a glorious OLED screen and the earliest it could happen is in time with the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus release date this 2016. The latest would be for the iPhone 7S next year.
