Tesla Motors CEO and SpaceX founder Elon Musk was the latest public figure to grace "The Simpsons" show. Musk appears on the 12th episode of the show's Season 26.
In the episode, Musk meets the Simpsons family after crash-landing on their backyard. Musk then goes on to befriend Homer who in turn inspired him with brilliant ideas. Together, Musk and Homer overhauled Springfield's nuclear power plant and gave every home an electric, self-driving car.
There are a couple of jokes hidden deep within the episode including a violin-playing quadcopter, a hyperloop and a high-tech luggage that automatically packs itself.
The episode also presents lots of good-natured joke about Musk who is considered as one of the world's best inventor.
After it was aired, the real-life Elon Musk went on to tweet some of scientific inaccuracies presented during the course of the episode.
At the end of the episode when Musk left Springfield though his Dragon spacecraft, Lisa Simpson was quick to remark that, "For a man who likes electric cars he sure burns a lot of rocket fuel."
Musk replied to this by posting on his Twitter account, "If u saw @TheSimpsons and wonder why @SpaceX doesn't use an electric rocket to reach orbit, it is cuz that is impossible."
The inventor also added that in the vacuum of space there is nothing to "push" against and dispels the possibility of a "space elevator" citing the lack of natural resources in order to build a "nanotube."
Musk's appearance on "The Simpson" is not his first take into the world of pop culture. He appeared on the film "Iron Man 2" playing the role of an entrepreneur and discusses the possibility of an electric jet with the protagonist Tony Stark played by Robert Downey Jr.
The episode aired on Jan. 25 and the episode was entitled "The Musk Who Fell To Earth."
