Samsung and Apple have dominated the smartphone market, with their rivalry becoming more and more intense.
Both the South Korean and Cupertino multinationals dominated the smartphone market in 2015, with Samsung accounting for approximately 22 percent of global market and Apple taking just over 16 percent, according to IDC. Samsung's latest iterations are sure to maintain the gap.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge pack a few improvements over their precursors, including a better camera, improved hardware design, and water resistance. Here are five major features found in Galaxy S7 that are not on the iPhone.
1. Camera launch by double tapping the home button
Samsung's latest phones allow the user to double press the home button to launch the camera. The company claims the feature lets users to launch the camera in less than a second, according to Time. Although Apple lacks the same shortcut, one can launch the camera fast from the home screen by tapping on the camera icon in the lower right corner.
2. Clearer low-light stills without using flash
The same publication notes that the ability to take better photos in dim conditions is one of the S7's biggest improvements compared to its predecessors. The company has increased the size of the pixels in its camera sensor, allowing the phone to take in more light.

3. Pay via phone without NFC
Most payments done through mobile phones, including Apple Pay, depend on the Near Field Communication to link a smartphone to a payment terminal. NFC support is becoming common in the retail world, but it is still not everywhere. Samsung Pay, on the contrary, can be used with almost any payment terminal. As a result, the system world about anywhere credit cards are acceptable irrespective of whether or not the cash register supports NFC.
4. Wireless charging
Like most Android phones, Samsung's Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge can be charged without plugging the device in. Users only need to rest the device on a charging pad to refill its battery. Furthermore, the wireless technology found in Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge works with just any charging mat available and while some tinkerers have developed workarounds that allow wireless charging on the iPhone, the feature is not officially supported.
5. Addition of extra storage space
Users who are heavy on space will appreciate this feature. Galaxy S7 owners can add extra storage space through microSD card, supporting up to 200GB in extra storage capacity.
