Android Marshmallow update is rolling out for the HTC One M8, M9, A9 users on the T-Mobile, TELUS and Verizon networks, but it is delayed for the AT&T users.
Reports also indicate that the Android Marshmallow release is imminent for the HTC Desire 530, 630, 816, 820, 825 and 826; HTC One E9, E8, M8 EYE, M9+, M8+ and the Butterfly 3 devices. This list also includes the recently unveiled devices such as HTC Desire 630, 825 and 530, which are expected to come with Android Marshmallow out-of-the-box. They are expected to go on sale in the first half of April.
However, AT&T users are liable to face delays as the carrier is facing a number of technical issues related to the installation process of the update. AT&T officials are engaged in sorting out the technical issues, so that they can roll out the update without major delays.
Android Marshmallow is also rolling out to the Canadian users of HTC A9. Numerous Canadian carriers such as Videotron, Wind Mobile, Sasktel and Rogers have already started the process and most of their users have already received the update.
According to GSM Arena, the latest operating system update will bring in support for the fingerprint sensors and the USB Type-C connectors as well. It will also have a permission manager app that will help to customize which permissions the users want to award to the apps.
It will also support voicemail in the visual mode, native tap for wake action, more forceful APK validation process and a new animation for the booting process. It will also come with a completely redesigned music and clock widget, which will be more user friendly. There will be support for landscape mode in Google Now Launcher and the file manager will be revamped as well. Users will also get the ability to do away with the pesky notifications, according to BGR.
Meanwhile, there is no word from HTC on the latest update Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and when the users can expect it. It has already rolled out for some of the Nexus devices.
