Gaming community was very excited when Bungie announced that a "Destiny" sequel is in the works; however, it was later reported that "Destiny 2" will be pushed back to 2017.

The delayed release date of "Destiny 2" is said to be due to a larger expansion that Bungie is working on. In a statement made by "Destiny's" developer, it is said that the team is focusing on delivering a larger expansion of "Destiny" later this year. The company also added that "Destiny's" full sequel announcement will happen during Holiday season of 2016, and it will then be delivered by 2017.

There's not much information given about the sequel but that didn't stop fans on speculating what "Destiny 2" may offer. According to a popular "Destiny" leakster Geno, "Destiny 2" will be titled as "Beyond Destiny." The same tipster added that the game sequel will come out to the much-rumored Nintendo NX console.

Since Geno is known to be a reliable source, with him predicting before that "Pokémon Sun" and "Pokémon Moon" will be announced which came out to be true, then fans may also expect that a Nintendo NX console will arrive soon, along with "Beyond Destiny."

Speculations are also rife that "Destiny 2" will focus on Osiris. According to Tech Insider, Osiris is a lost warlock who never appeared to the franchise. The character's look is still unknown even though "Destiny" introduced a multiplayer tournament called "Trials of Osiris." Kotaku's unnamed source even compared Osiris to "Star War's" character Obi-Wan Kenobi that is living in an ancient temple on Mercury.

For reference, "Trials of Osiris" is a weekly tournament wherein the winning team gets to visit a temple on Mercury, called Temple of Osiris.

Meanwhile, "Destiny's" developer Bungie just recently confirmed that the next major update for "Destiny" will happen on April 12. The said update will deliver numerous additions and changes such as the inclusion of new and upgraded gears, additional PvE challenges, Sandbox and Crucible updates, an increased max light level and an additional quest.

"Destiny's" update will be free for those who own "Destiny: The Taken King." Twitch stream for the update will happen on March 23, March 30 and April 6 at 11am PST.
