"A dedicated game platform with a brand-new concept under the development Codename 'NX,'" Nintendo's Director and President Satoru Iwata said in a statement released by Nintendo. He added that it is "too early to elaborate on the details of this project."

Much to the delight of the fans, Nintendo's next-gen console will apparently have a superior and crisp hardware and gameplay concepts. However, the lack of development details apparently comes as a disappointment to some solid fans.

Apparently, there is not much news about the highly anticipated console, but a new leaked image could be the fans' first real glimpse at what it may look like. The Nintendo NX leak news eventually spread like a wildfire in the online world, where some fans expressed that the pictures seem legit.

A pseudonym name of perkele37 took to Reddit on March 24, Thursday, to share a couple of high-quality images of an alleged Nintendo's NX console alongside tidbits of information. According to perkele37, the leaked images may not represent the final design of the console revealing that it is a prototype controller for the NX's developer edition.

"Only the upper 'nubs' of the sticks move. The bottom part is static (kind of like the circle pad, but it moves along the bottom 'sphere'," the user uncovered. Adding more information, the user likens the rollers on the top of the device to a mouse scroll wheel. What's more interesting is that the controller allegedly features a 3.5mm headphone jack on the bottom, where it gives a vibrating haptic feedback to its proprietors.

To date, nothing is certain as Nintendo has kept the development of NX's console under wraps. The company will most likely announce more details at this year's E3 gaming conference in June.
