The new mobile game in town is coming. Thanks to the official screenshots from game developer Niantic Inc., as fans worldwide now has a better idea of how the "Pokémon GO" game will look like.

In September 2015, Niantic officially announced that the company is producing an augmented reality game based on the popular Pokémon franchise, titled "Pokémon GO." Much to the delight of fans, the game will apparently permit players to capture, battle, train, and trade virtual Pokémon who appear throughout the real world.

After how many months of waiting, fans finally had a glimpse of the game's actual gameplay after a footage that was shown off at the SXSW conference suddenly surfaced on the web on March 23, Wednesday. Now, Niantic posted on its official website a handful of screenshots and game details about the upcoming "Pokémon GO."

The game developer posted three screenshots - a zoomed out view of the game map, a zoomed in view of the player with a Squirtle that just appeared and a Squirtle encounter screen.

"'Pokémon GO' represents the next generation of Niantic's "Real World Gaming" platform," as written by the "Pokémon GO" Development Team. "This platform combines mobile location technology and augmented reality to create a unique game experience that motivates players to go outside and explore the world around them."

What is more, game players can also evolve some Pokémon and incubated previously-acquired eggs that might reveal new and stronger Pokémon. Meanwhile, eggs and other special items such as Poké Balls can be acquired at PokéStops - historical markers, monuments, museums and among others, according to The Pokémon Company's official website.

As of press time, the upcoming game is currently in active development. That said, the developer company further revealed that they are planning to have a constrained field test in Japan sooner or later. It is no news that the released screenshots and details' leaves fans crazy, however, it should be noted first that features, available languages, design and overall appearance presented are not yet final.

Nonetheless, the game is set to be released at some point this year for iOS and Android devices, alongside a small wearable device called the "Pokémon Go Plus." Watch the leaked SXSW's "Pokémon Go" gameplay video below:
