With "Agent Carter's" fate hanging on the balance, former "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" casts may take center stage when "S.H.I.E.L.D" goes on hiatus after Season 3.

Marvel Studios has previously tapped a new series called "Marvel's Most Wanted" to be headlined by two previous agents who bowed out of the show in the "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" episode "Parting Shot."

The new series will be focused on Bobbi Morse a.k.a Mockingbird (Adrianne Palicki) and her ex-husband Lance Hunter (Nick Blood) after they left S.H.I.E.L.D.

The project is created by "S.H.I.E.L.D" writers and producers Jeffrey Bell and Paul Zbyszewski who also wrote "Parting Shot." The duo also tapped Delroy Lindo as one of the main cast who will make and alliance with Bobbi and Lance as they find themselves in dire situations with a bounty on their heads.

Lindo will play the role of Dominic Fortune, a rogue adventurer who has pledged to use his resources to help save the world. Other actors who have joined the ensemble are "The Mummy" star Oded Fehr and "The Devil Inside" star Fernanda Andrade, Spoiler TV reported.

"Most Wanted" is considered a "S.H.I.E.L.D" spin-off but co-creator Bell said that the series will tackle a new territory within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In an interview, he told EW that it will be character-driven with focus on the Bobbi and Lance's relationship and adventures away from S.H.I.E.L.D. Bell said that they intend to create a distinct feel and tone with the show in order to make a "separate world" for the characters within a larger universe. Bell hopes that series will have its own vibe.

Bell also acknowledged that based on the description, "Most Wanted" could easily be compared to Marvel's version of "Mr. and Mrs. Smith." He said that it's a fair point given that they intend to explore a world where ex-spies, mercenaries and soldiers go head-to-head for a mission.

"Marvel's Most Wanted" is currently in development for a pilot episode. Meanwhile, "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" continues without Bobbi and Lance every Tuesday at 9pm on ABC.
