Microsoft users have something to be excited for as the company pushes to launch its cross platform Office services for iOS and Android smart phones.
The tech giant aims to dominate the apps, MSWord, MSExcel, and PowerPoint, when it released its Android tablet friendly Office apps last year. The current Office apps were aimed for Google Android's larger screen smart phones and is readily available for free download in their full pledged forms, the OneNote for Android, according to Gigaom.
The Washington-based company has started to roll out the preview apps of the Office platform for iOS and Android mobile devices on Jan. 29, Thursday.
In December 2014, Accompli was acquired by Microsoft, to use its capability to automatically prioritize emails in a users' inbox. This capability organizes the most important emails of a user in the inbox. For very busy people and always on the move, this can be very useful as it sorts out what are the most essential emails found in one's inbox, IT Business reported.
The Accompli app is rebranded to carry the Microsoft logo and the Outlook's name when released to the market. It also had some nifty features in it. The new Outlook app allows users to split their inbox into two different parts, Focused and Other.
Focused contains all the important emails that a user had and Other will contain all the rest of the email present in the inbox. The latest app also has several features to let the user swipe left and right and chooses whether to edit, delete, flag or archive each email.
Outlook app works across all devices, as well as Office 365, iCloud, Outllook.com, Exchange, Yahoo, and Gmail which makes it a very versatile app which may prompt users to rid of their old ones.
