Kris Jenner was well aware of Caitlyn Jenner's struggle with gender identity during her marriage and had even pushed her former husband into Christian therapy to "cure" the issue. The accusation has been raised by Canadian journalist Ian Halperin in his new book "Kardashian Dynasty."

In the new scandal- filled book, Halperin has claimed that the "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" matriarch ignored the gender transition charges of her then husband, who was earlier known as  Bruce Jenner,  and even persuaded him to pray for "guidance." The couple was married for 22 years before splitting in 2013 and finally divorcing in 2014. Just six months later, the former Olympian came out with a new identity and reportedly underwent surgery to become a woman.

Halperin has also implied in his upcoming book that without Kris' persistent effort to keep her husband's gender re-assignment urge under control, Caitlyn would have made the "transition" long ago. A close family member admittedly told the author that Kris believed at the time that her husband's involvement with Church activities would keep his mind away from his gender struggle, Daily Mail reported.

Halperin also maintains in his new book that Kris was well aware of the fact that her then husband was taking hormonal pills since 1980s and had often caught him red-handed dressed as a woman in the house. The momager had also allegedly told the decathlon champion to keep his "experiments" away from home and kids. The author has claimed that Kris was afraid that the truth could "damage" the family brand.

Meanwhile, Caitlyn declared recently that saying goodbye to Bruce was really tough.

"When you get name changed, gender marker changed, all that kind of stuff, you know it's the right thing to do in your heart but sometimes I did feel like I was throwing him out," Sydney Morning Herald quoted the 66-year-old as saying.

Touching on the topic of his ex-wife, Caitlyn did admit that although she was honest with her at the beginning, she had somewhere downplayed the desire for gender transition in front of Kris. When the Olympic champion opened up about her life long gender struggles in the interview with Diane Sawyer, th momager was the one who reportedly struggled the most with the change and did not speak to her ex-husband for months.
