The Android Marshmallow equivalent version on the Xiaomi platform is MIUI 6.3.17, and it is only available to all those users who are on its preceding version - MIUI 5.12.17. So, any device, which is running on a platform older than MIUI 5.12.17 will first need to upgrade to MIUI 5.12.17, so as to be eligible for the latest Android Marshmallow update.

Meanwhile, Android Marshmallow is being released to numerous devices such as Sony Xperia Z Series, Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge alongwith numerous LG models. Sony Xperia Z5 faced a number of issues when it was updated with Android Marshmallow, but the company was quick to release a patch to resolve the same.

The current version of the Android operating system, Android Marshmallow is specially designed for an enhanced user experience, according to BGR. With this operating system, the users are made capable of controlling their Android device in a more controlled manner.

One of the most notable changes is the change in the lock screen of the device. The lock screen is almost identical to the one found in Android Lollipop. There is only one change to be noted. Instead of the dialler and the camera shortcuts which were found in the bottom corners, Google has now opted for quick access to voice commands.

Next is the inclusion of a new app drawer, according to GSM Arena. This feature replaces the horizontal scrolling. The new app drawer allows the users to scroll vertically, which in a way speeds up the navigation and gets the user to the apps quicker.
