Rumors stated that YG's new girl group name is Pink Punk and will be comprised of YG's top trainees. Some of these ladies already appeared in music videos, productions and endorsements.

Jennie Kim was featured in one of G-Dragon's song "That XX". Kim Jisoo appeared in various endorsements with iKON. Moon Sua is currently battling in the second season of "Unpretty Rapstar" and Jang Hana from audition program KPOP Star will reportedly join the girl group. YG fans are crossing their fingers that the girls will start promoting next year.

Meanwhile, the clamor for a new girl group from one of the biggest entertainment companies in South Korea is prompted by Minzy's departure from 2NE1. In an official statement from YG Entertainment, according to All Kpop, "We are sorry to inform the many 2NE1 fans who've waited so long. We are making an official announcement that 2NE1's maknae Minzy will no longer be a part of 2NE1."

"With the end of 2NE1's contract with YG coming up on May 5, 2016, we met with the 2NE1 members this past January to discuss their intentions about re-signing. However, Minzy expressed her intentions that were different from the group."

"The remaining three members have re-signed, and they're preparing for a new song release for this summer as 2NE1. We are not looking for an additional member to replace Minzy."

Minzy's departure is reportedly due to lack of solo activities during the hiatus. The 2NE1 maknae reportedly want to focus on other things. Minzy was 16 when she debuted under YG.
