"Empire" season 2 star Grace Gealey recently hinted on the possibility of character Anika being involved in Rhonda's (Kaitlin Doubleday) accident.

While speaking with TV Line, the actress said that fans will be utterly surprised when they find out what really happened to Rhonda and who actually pushed her down the stairs.

The accident, which was featured in the 11th episode of the hit FOX series, confirmed that Rhonda and Andre's (Trai Byers) unborn child died.

"I would call Anika desperate. Unhinged. But you're definitely going to see some serious vulnerabilities in the back half of the season. You're going to truly understand what drives her, her intentions, her motivations," she said.

As of late, Rhonda doesn't have any memories of what exactly happened to her before she fell down the stairs.

However, the accident definitely took a toll on her marriage to Andre. The rest of the Lyon family are also unhappy with news that their unborn child is dead.

Previously, Andre and his father developed a much closer bond after the former said that he will now become a grandfather.

At that time, Lucious (Terrence Howard) didn't want to involve Andre in his music business because he didn't see him as an asset to the company.

Lucious was only focused on honing the talents of his two sons Jamal (Jussie Smollett) and Hakeem who are both singers.

However, when Lucious found out that he will become a grandfather, he bought Andre and Rhonda a huge mansion to ensure that his grandchild will have a comfortable life.

Meanwhile, the upcoming episode of "Empire" season 2 will reveal that Anika is pregnant with Hakeem's (Bryshere Gray) child.

With this, it's definitely possible that Anika was the one who pushed Rhonda down the stairs because she wants her and Hakeem's child to be the only grandchild of Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) and Lucious.

In other news, Gealey also talked about the upcoming finale episode of "Empire" season 2. According to the actress, fans will surely "get up, gasp and scream all at the same time."

"Empire" season 2 airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on FOX.
