"Game of Thrones" and "X-Men" fans might be treated with a great crossover. Recent casting rumors have it that Maisie Williams may could be venturing into the superhero movie world.

The "X-Men" crew is eyeing Williams to become part of the cast in Fox's "X-Men" spinoff film titled "The New Mutants," according to NME. Rumors show that Williams will play Wolfsbane, a mutant from Scotland with extraordinary ability to change into a powerful werewolf.

Producer Simon Kinberg is believed to have recruited Williams. The 2014 "The Fault In Our Stars" director Josh Boone will co-direct and write the upcoming spinoff, and he is speculated to be fully on board with the notion of getting young "Game of Thrones" star featuring in the movie.

Boone and Kinberg concur that Williams will fill the gap in their quest for a young adult feel to the project. The newbie will help the project stand on its own with respect to the original X-Men franchise.

Speaking to IGN, Kinberg said, "Boone and his writing partner are working on the script. They're doing a really nice job of it, and it's a really cool one, because in many ways, like Deadpool was so different from the mainline X-Men movies, New Mutants."

Kinberg added that while it is probably not as different as Deadpool, it has its "own unique, original voice to it."

With regard to the members of the cast for the upcoming spinoff movie, producer Kinberg added that fans would still see "X-Men" characters and other new mutants yet to hit on the big screen. Kinberg added that there is a very deep bench and a long list of names, some of which he himself does not even know.

Currently, Williams features on HBO's "Game of Thrones" as the spunky and vengeful Arya Stark. The idea of Williams joining X-Men cinematic universe is enough to excite fans. Most importantly, Williams is emulating her "Game of Thrones" co-star and onscreen sister Sophie Turner.

Catch Williams as Arya Stark in the next season of "game of Thrones," which airs on April 24. "The New Mutants" is slated for a release in 2018. Watch the footage below for more information.
