Jake Gyllenhaal just confessed that he had a major crush on Jennifer Aniston. The star made the admission during a recent interview and added that he actually liked her for a very long time.

He came to like her as he grew up with the "Friends" series on TV, but clarified that he did not watched the show often for he was not a fan of the said program. When he was 22 and Aniston was 34, he got the chance to see her face to face as he was cast to be her love interest in the romantic film called "The Good Girl" in 2002.

Commenting on the experience, Gyllenhaal said that it was "lovely" to finally meet and be close to his childhood crush. "I will say, I had a crush on her for years. And (because of that) working with her was not easy. That's all I'm going to say," he told Jess Cagle, the editorial director for People magazine.

The actor also shared that having a crush on her was not a result of watching her popular television sitcom where Aniston gained worldwide recognition by acting as Rachel Green. Gyllenhaal explained that more than her good looks, he was smitten by her personality, "but just like who she is."

Aside from Aniston, the star also discussed about former girlfriend Reese Witherspoon
and close pal Anne Hathaway. He praised both women and commented that his ex-gf is one of the smartest and strongest people he ever met while the latter is really "talented, brilliant and sometimes confusing human," Entertainment Weekly reported.

Meanwhile, Gyllenhaal will be seen next in the comedy-drama movie entitled "Demolition." It tells about the story of Davis, a successful banker who struggles after the untimely death of his wife. Later, he starts to rebuild his life with the help of customer service rep named Karen and her son Chris.

The film was directed by Jean Marc Vallée and written by Bryan Sipe. It will be released in theaters on April 8.
