The 2016 versions of both the MacBook Pro and Air are rumored to pack a slimmer design on release date with reports saying that the devices will be patterned after the 12-inch MacBook 2015. And the next-generation OS X laptops will have more power and speed potentials tucked under the hood, the latter courtesy of Samsung's latest memory chip technology.
The prospect of getting a further slimmed down 2016 MacBook already excites Apple fans but to be sure the devices are jammed with incredible feature upgrades from the previous efforts. Rumors are persistent that for this year's refresh, the Macs will jump from Intel Broadwell to Skylake that promises boosts in computing might and speed.
Yet for the latter improvement, it seems Apple will rely on another component that likely will be supplied by its long-time partner (and at times, foe) - Samsung. According to BGR, the South Korean tech giant was part of the Apple supply chain last year, providing its Ram expertise for both the iOS and OS X devices, and 2016 will not be any different.
Possibly for both the iPhone 7 and 2016 MacBooks, Samsung will delivers its cutting edge , which the company said is a huge jump from the 20-nanometer DDR4 RAM chips. The Korean firm assures up to 30 percent of performance gains that translate to 3200MBPS of data transfer - superfast by any account.
Samsung said that the 8GB modules of 10nm DDR4 RAM have commenced large-scale production, meaning Apple can order and reserve big for use on its devices lined up for rollout within the year.
And that puts the 2016 MacBooks as among the first recipients of Samsung's stupid fast RAM modules. This aligns with recent reports a MacBook refresh that is not only further trimmed down in profile but is also more powerful and faster than the past models. It looks like that the feature upgrades in this respect will be made possible by the upcoming MacBooks rocking Intel Skylake processors and Samsung's 10-nanometer DDR4 RAM modules.
The 2016 MacBooks, unclear at this time if they will still include the Pro and Air branding, are expected to be introduced in 13-inch and 15-inch screen sizes alongside the OS X 10.12 and via the 2016 WWDC this coming June with the release date tipped to follow shortly.
