The Cleveland Browns could have their eyes set for a defensive back, according to the latest NFL mock draft.

In CBS Sports writer Jared Dubin's latest mock draft, the Browns go with Jalen Ramsey at No. 2, with the Florida State product offering great defensive upside for Cleveland. The Browns are expected to opt for a quarterback in previous mock drafts, but such talent in Ramsey may be too enticing to pass for Cleveland.

"If the Browns aren't going to take a quarterback, they might as well take the guy that many consider the best defensive player in the draft," Dubin wrote.

"Ramsey can play corner inside or out as well as some safety, and his versatility would be a huge lift to a defense that needs help everywhere."

There is a possibility the Browns could instead select Ramsey rather than a quarterback prospect, with the club recently acquiring Robert Griffin III, who was released by the Washington Wizards last month. The 2012 NFL offensive rookie of the year will have a chance to reset the clock after enduring a dry run with the Browns in the last four seasons.

However, Pro Football Focus senior draft analyst Steve Palazzolo believes Ramsey would be a smart pick for the Tennessee Titans, who holds the No. 1 selection in this year's NFL draft in Chicago. Palazzolo noted that Ramsey provides the "best value" for Tennessee in terms of skills and potential to become one of the best corners in the NFL, reports Titans Online.

But in case the Browns really intend to add another quarterback in contingent of QBs, Palazzolo thinks picking California's Jared Goff over North Dakota State's Carson Wentz would be a wiser choice for Cleveland.

"I like Goff because the more I watch him and the more you break down the tapes, I just think he does quarterbacking things that translate to the NFL," Palazzolo said, reports the Akron Beacon Journal.

"I think the reason why a lot of other mock drafts have Carson Wentz [going to the Browns] is either because of hearsay or because of some kind of inside information or they simply are enamored with the upside potential that he has, and I completely get that,"

The Browns will have the luxury to pick one of the top prospects in draft night later this month, and it could either be Ramsey or Goff. The only foreseen conflict for Cleveland come draft night is the decision to choose one of the two mentioned rookies if both are still available when the Browns get their turn to select.
