Brenner disclosed his one-year relationship with the dolphin in the film "Dolphin Lover" which premiered at the Slamdance Film Festival in Park City, Utah last week. He admits pursuing a sexual relationship with the dolphin during the 1970s in Florida, according to Huffington Post.

In the film, Brenner admits their taboo relationship. He confessed rubbing the mammal, and how he was trusted by the park officers to be alone with the dolphins, which he was photographing at the time, and wait until nightfall to have sex with Dolly. In the short video, he told how he rubbed her back, down to the tail, and while moving along the body the dolphin would roll slowly around her axis.

On a separate interview with Fusion, Brenner described the sexual activity in a more graphic detail. His encounter with the dolphin was also made into a book called "Wet Goddess", in the book he called the relationship to be consensual and he was seduced to have sex with it.

Brenner continued to explain that the relationship began as soon as Dolly displayed signs of her intentions as she positioned herself so he was rubbing against her.

"There's something quite transcendental about making love with a dolphin. The dolphin is very aware, the dolphin is an intelligent and creative creature and making love is a consummate act."
