"Fast and furious'" ever expanding cast is not showing any signs of terminating its expansion. Just recently, it has been confirmed that the franchise is going to receive two more actors namely Charlize Theron and Scott Eastwood.

According to Variety, Theron is set to join the eighth installment of the "Fast and Furious" action-thriller as a villain alongside other new and returning cast members. The franchise has reportedly signed the Oscar-winning actress as one of its newest cast members.

Apart from playing the villain, no further details have surfaced regarding Theron's character. She is best known for her work in several films like Karyn Kusama's "Aeon Flux," George Miller's "Mad Max: Fury Road," and Peter Burg's "Hancock." Her flexibility has also led her into romantic dramas and science fiction films.

Eastwood, another Hollywood offspring, has joined the "Fast 8" cast list. His enlisting in "Fast and Furious 8" was announced by Universal through a tweet declaring that, "Kurt Russell's Mr. Nobody has a new protégé Welcome @ScottEastwood to the Fast family."

Eastwood also proclaimed via Instagram that he was going to join Theron, "the next flick in 'Fast and Furious' franchise." In his post, he went ahead to pay tribute to the late Paul Walker, who played as Brian O'Conner in "Fast and Furious 7."

The "Suicide Squad" actor wrote that Walker was a close friend of his, and they surfed and travelled together. He further described him as an influencing figure of his life and a role model, likening him to a brother, Daily Mail reported.

Eastwood believes that joining the "Fast and Furious" family unites him with Walker, and is "a dream come true." He is expected to play a role in the movie as a close associate of Kurt Russel aka Mr. Nobody.

The latest announcements of new members in the "Fast and Furious 8" cast has triggered several reactions from critics. According to their commentaries, the franchise should watch out not to overdo in terms of the cast and forget about the importance of the story.

Production of "Fast and Furious 8" is scheduled to begin in May.
