"Severed" will be launched on April 26 as a new PlayStation Vita game for the handheld console. PS Plus members will get a 10 percent discount when the game is released on its launch week.
DrinkBox Studios' Graham Smith announced the release date of the game on PlayStation's official blog on April 11, Monday, and it will be priced at $14.99. This game promises colorful adventures for its visual display and great gameplay that will let gamers be immersed in its story.
The game was supposed to be launched in spring 2015, but after their demo showing at PlayStation Experience last December 2014, they wanted to add more elements to the game. They took another whole year for adding these elements into the development, and now they are happy and satisfied with the results.
According to the game's official website, Sasha is the protagonist of this game, and players will be controlling this one-armed warrior throughout it. She is armed with a living sword, and will travel through a nightmare world to search for her loved ones imprisoned within.
The players can use the touch controls by swiping icons to solve game puzzles, reveal secrets, and fight against monsters. New abilities can be unlocked as players will progress further through the game and it will have an RPG-style upgrade tree.
Another feature that players might get interested in is the severing of the enemies' body parts. They can defeat their enemies by taking apart the body parts, and then wear them to acquire new powers or consume them for upgrades of the players' abilities and gear.
Players can also explore throughout different branching routes through the open world. They will need to best different puzzles, and evade traps along the way too. The music will be from YAMANTAKA // SONIC TITAN and will feature special guests, which are the Pantayo.
Smith specified that the whole studio was a big fan of the PS Vita handheld console, and they are excited to release this game for the handheld console owners. They are hopeful that the long wait will be worth it for the fans who were patient enough.
