Television dramas like the blockbuster “Descendants of the Sun” could be likened to fantasies because of the perfect situations in the show. The lead stars are all handsome and pretty, while situations always work out in favor of the characters.
However, real life is not like that, reminds a parody of the 16-episode hallyu. Posted on social media sites, the video is a reality check for Koreans and Chinese fans of “Descendants of the Sun” that real-lie situations are not as perfect as what happen in the drama.
Some situations even become nightmares like the literal cliffhanger scene in the show where Song Joong-ki’s character, Yoo Si Jin, jumps into the vehicle of Kang Mo-yeon, played by Song Hye kyo, and saves her from injury. But in the parody, the weight of the actor causes the car to fall into the body of water.
Asia One compared the parody to sketch comedy show “Saturday Night Live” where scenes are shown how it would happen if real-life couples were involved. For one, the parody used actors who had ordinary faces to distinguish it from the pimple- and blemish-free faces of the two Songs.
All eyes are on the last two episodes of “Descendants of the Sun” which airs on Wednesday and Thursday. Episode 16 would likely break viewership records.
Ahead of the last episode, various websites are running spoilers of how the drama would end. According to Parent Herald, Yoo and Seo Fae Young, played by Jin Goo, and other members of the Alpha team would go on another dangerous mission. Among the teasers of how the show would end are Staff Sergeant Choi looking disturbed when Kang asks about Yoo and Kang attending a funeral.
Observant fans, however, pointed out that the leaked photos were from the actress’s past movies. However, cast of the show are guarded so as not to give away how the show would end.
