Samsung has quietly launched the improvised versions of its Galaxy Tab S2, which accommodates Qualcomm's 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 652 chipset. Currently, the upgraded versions are available now at a starting price of €449 ($513) at the German site Cyberport.de.

While the original versions of Galaxy Tab S2 came with Android 5.0 out of the box, the tweaked versions, which have been dubbed as the South Korean tech manufacturer's current generation high-end tablet, will launch with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Both the models will come with Super AMOLED screens, similar to the 1536x2048 resolution of the iPad, GSM Arena reported.

The new Galaxy Tab S2 models are also packed with 3 GB RAM, offer 32 GB internal memory, which can be expanded up to 128 GB via a microSD card slot and 8-megapixel/ 1440p rear camera, a 2.1-megapixel front camera, Wi-Fi connectivity and microUSB. In addition, Samsung is also selling keyboards separately for those wanting a more productive experience.

According to Samsung, the 8-inch Galaxy Tab S2 is ideal for reading purposes, while the Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 is the right device for watching movies.

However, there is no specific information regarding the battery size of the Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 and Galaxy Tab S2 8.0. Since the tablets released last year came with 4000mAh and 5870mAh battery units, it is expected that this time Samsung will boost the battery power of the devices somewhat, Android Community reported.

The Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 is priced at €550 ($619) and comes with get LTE connectivity and 32GB storage. On the other hand, the Tab S2 8.0 tablet has a starting price of €449 ($513) with only Wi-Fi connectivity and 32GB storage. The price for the LTE version is €480 ($540).

However, these prices are for the German customers and it is expected that the devices will soon be available throughout the European Union. It is worth mentioning here that a few months back, these tweaked models were spotted in benchmark sites, which described them as Samsung Galaxy Tab 3. However, apparently the South Korean tech titan did not consider the tweaks to be important enough to release the models as its next version high-end tablet.

As of now, Samsung has not announced the release date of its next generation tablets, but it is expected to be sometime around July this year as the company usually remains true to its annual update cycle.
