Google will soon take center-stage for the 2016 I/O while both the Nexus 5X and 6P are on sale, indicating that the next big thing from the tech giant is coming real soon. That means the Nexus 2016 release date could happen anytime as owning the latest Pure Android flagships come with bonus savings of up to $100.

The latest Nexus deals, according to Android Authority, are courtesy of Amazon, Newegg, Best Buy, B&H and Google Play Store. All stores display the 6P and 5X with $50 discounts but opting for the promos involving Best Buy and B&H will give the highest saving - high of $100.

Over at Best Buy, picking up the Nexus 6P will entitle buyers claim on $50 gift card that can be used on the same device purchase. However, the Nexus 5X from the same seller is without that privilege.

Thankfully, B&H dangles gift cards that buyers of the Nexus 6P and 5X can grab - $50 for the bigger and premium vanilla Android and $25 for the cheaper option. And sweetening the deal further is a free selfie stick that applies for both the 6P and 5X.

Android Authority said that the discounts are in effect until May 6 for Amazon, Newegg and the Play Store. Best Buy and B&H seem to provide more time for shoppers but the same report carried no deadline. It is likely that the Nexus 2015 deals are good until supplies last.

And it could be that once the stocks run out there will be no replenishments. The idea it seems is to clear out the existing Nexus inventory so that fresh shipments could come in and that should be for the upgraded Nexus 2016.

It makes sense that the rollout for the next Nexus will happen soon. Android N, the replacement for Android Marshmallow, is in Developers Preview 2 and will soon reach the final cut. It is expected that Google's new mobile operating system will be completed just before the I/O Developers Conference kicks off in May 18.

In the same I/O event, the next Android will unveil and so is the first batch of devices the software will power - all belonging to the Nexus 2016 family. So it should be a safe bet that the release date will follow soon, likely between June and July with the unboxing to produce the Nexus 7 2016 tablet.
