The 9.7-inch iPad Pro was released in March this year. Both 9.7-inch iPad Pro and 12.9-inch iPad Pro share many important features such as the Smart Connector and Apple Pencil support. However, they are geared toward different types of users. Let's take a look at the features of both tablets.

The display of 12.9-inch iPad Pro is so big that its width is equal to the complete height of the 9.7-inch iPad Pro. If a user is planning to use the Apple Pencil a lot, especially for drawing, then the 12.9-inch iPad Pro is a better fit.

If a user is planning to use a keyboard a lot - particularly Apple's Smart Keyboard - then the 12.9-inch model will offer them more space to type.

On the other hand, the 9.7-inch iPad Pro is a better fit for people who are more of a note taker. Furthermore, if users are not planning to use a keyboard, or want to attach the Smart Keyboard sometimes, then the 9.7-inch model is a better fit.

At 0.96-pound, the 9.7-inch iPad Pro is ultraportable and can be held with one hand easily while walking or standing, enabling users to use their finger or an Apple Pencil while on their feet.

On the other hand, the weight of 12.9-inch model makes it better suited for using on a desk or a user's lap. The bigger model offers more screen real estate for manipulating content or viewing and also additional space to use the onscreen virtual keyboard.

The 9.7-inch iPad Pro packs a True Tone display, MacRumors reported. The technology uses sensors to measure ambient light temperature and brightness. According to those settings, the screen is adjusted automatically.

Users should choose the 12.9-inch iPad Pro if they have the need for speed. Both the 9.7-inch iPad Pro and the 12.9-inch iPad Pro run the same A9X processor, it is clocked faster for graphics processing and CPU horsepower on the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, Forbes reported. The bigger variant has double the RAM.

Furthermore, the 9.7-inch iPad Pro features the USB 2-speed Lightning port and the 12.9-inch model features a high-speed USB 3 Lightning port.

The 9.7-inch variant has a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. On the other hand, the bigger variant has an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 1.2 megapixel front-facing camera.

Meanwhile, according to new reports, Best Buy is offering $125 off its complete selection of 12.9-inch iPad Pros. It is offering the 12.9-inch iPad Pro (128 GB) for $954.99 and 12.9-inch iPad Pro (256 GB) for $974.99.
