With "Moby Dick" film director Park In Je at the helm, the upcoming film explores the concealed side of politics through a Seoul mayor, played by actor Choi Min-Sik, who runs for election for the third time. The other star-studded film cast includes Kwak Do Won as Seoul Mayor's Aide, Shim Eun Kyung as the Chief of Youth Innovation Committee and "1988's" star Ryoo Hye Yeong.

If the actor accepts, Ki will be playing the role of a powerful politician's son who has studied abroad. The filming for the said role is scheduled to commence in late July, Soompi reported.

The Korean-American actor made her acting debut on Jeff Liu's 2011 theatrical production titled "Wrinkles." Appearing as guest stars in many different TV shows since 2010, he rose to fame after his performance as Dong Nguyen in Netflix's "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt."

In mid-2013, Ki slowly made a name for himself in Hollywood after he had been cast to star in the film adaptation of James Dashner's "The Maze Runner" - marking his first feature film debut. In the film, Ki plays the role of Minho, a former Glader and the keeper of the Runners in charge of exploring and mapping out the labyrinth.

Now, it has been reported that Ki is set to reprise the role in the third and final installment, "The Maze Runner: The Death Cure," alongside Dylan O'Brien, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Kaya Scodelario, Dexter Darden, Jacob Lofland and Rosa Salazar.

As a conclusion to the saga, the upcoming sequel film follows the excursion of the surviving Gladers as they embark on a mission to find a cure to a deadly disease known as the "Flare." However, their friendships and loyalties will be tested as they go head-to-head against WCKD, which will seemingly bring an end to the life of many.

Directed by American film director Wes Ball, the third and final dystopian sci-fi film is set to be released on Feb. 17, 2017, in the United States. Check out the trailer below:
