Genoa is at the 11th spot of the current league table, 12 points behind the last Europa League qualifying berth held by sixth-placed AC Milan but is 10 points safe above the bottom three relegation area.

I Rossoblu has been on a roll in the past few weeks as the team has won four of its last six assignments which made them climb in the middle of the standings after spending most of the season in the bottom two-thirds of it.

However, the team's last game is a highly disappointing 1-4 beating in the hands of lowly club Carpi FC at the Stadio Alberto Braglia last Saturday as Genoa was limited to ten men from the second half onwards, as per Football Italia.

Manager Gian Piero Gasperini's boys opened the scoring with a fine left-footed shot from center box by striker Leonardo Pavoletti. Genoa was in control much of the first half until defender Armando Izzo was booked for a second yellow card, sending him off during the first half stoppage time.

Carpi immediately took advantage of the visitors' setback and scored two goals before the half ended, courtesy of midfielders Antonio Di Gaudio and Lorenzo Lollo, to snatch the lead from Genoa.

The hosts added to their lead just four minutes into the second period with a goal from midfielder Lorenzo Pasciuti. Defender Stefano Sabelli finished the four-goal haul by netting another one at the 86th minute.

Meanwhile, Inter Milan took advantage of Gonzalo Higuaín's absence to blank Napoli, 2-0, at their home field of Stadio Giuseppe Meazza last Saturday, as reported by Goal.

Team captain Mauro Icardi scored the first goal of the contest right at the fourth minute while midfielder Marcelo Brozovic netted the second one a minute before the halftime break. Both teams were held scoreless in the second half as Inter won their second consecutive match.

With the win, I Nerazzurri is now just four points behind third-placed Roma for the final Champions League qualifying berth with five games left in their current campaign.

The predicted result is a 3-0 romp for Inter Milan.
