"Game of Thrones" Season 6 premiere is near and various speculations and excitement have been around the corner, one of which, is a talk about spin-offs for the show.  The series creator thinks that there is enough material in case a spin-off will be planned.

Given the plethora of story universes on television and films, it would not be a surprise if the "Game of Thrones" franchise will have a tie-in television show. However, HBO execs and showrunners reportedly have no plans to develop subsequent franchises.

"The job at hand is too enormous and challenging to be further diffusing ourselves by thinking about spin-offs, and theme park rides, and ice ballets," showrunner D.B. Weiss told Entertainment Weekly. "But if anybody has a good pitch for a good 'Game of Thrones' ice ballet, let us know."

Luckily, George R.R. Martin has an idea for a spin-off in case the show wraps up anytime soon, Coming Soon reported. Martin said that the most natural follow-up will be an adaptation of his "Dunk & Egg" stories which have been at the forefront of his anthology "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" which is set 90 years before the happenings on the "Game of Thrones" saga.

"Dunk & Egg" tells the adventures of the Kingsguard, Ser Duncan the Tall and his squire Egg who would later become King Aegon V Targaryen. The story has since been adapted to a limited comic book series by Ben Avery drawn by Mike S. Miller published by Image Comics and Devil's Due.

In contrast with "Game of Thrones," "Dunk & Egg" is a relatively lighter series that is more focused on action and adventure. On the other hand, fans are reportedly interested in exploring other stories such as the rise to power of Targaryens and the time when dragons flew freely.

Meanwhile, "Deadwood" star Ian McShane will reportedly make an appearance as a guest star in "Game of Thrones" Season 6. He will join Peter Dinklage, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Maisie Williams, Sophie Turner, Isaac Hempstead Wright and Carice van Houten who will return to reprise their respective roles.

"Game of Thrones" Season 6 premieres on HBO on April 24. To know more about the "Dunk & Egg" saga, watch the video below:
