Pop icon Prince, 57, is resting at home following an emergency hospital admission in Illinois recently. The artist was struggling with the flu while performing in the United States. He made an emergency landing after a concert to seek medical attention. He flew home three hours later.

Prince canceled two shows on his current tour owing to the flu, TMZ reported. However, he wanted to go ahead with his show in Atlanta despite feeling unwell. A source close to the singer quoted by the website said Prince felt worse after the show. His private jet then made an emergency landing in Illinois so that he could be treated and he was transported by ambulance to the hospital.

The source was quoted as saying Prince's jet landed at Quad City International Airport in the early hours over the weekend. The source also said the nature of his condition at the time was unclear. However, the "Purple Rain" singer is reported to be recovering well.

Meanwhile, the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame inductee announced last month that he is to release a memoir about his life. The working title of the book is to be "The Beautiful Ones." The book is to be launched in 2017, The Guardian reported.

Media reports quoted publishers Spiegel & Grau as saying the firm had acquired the rights to publish Prince's first book. At an event held last month in New York, Prince was quoted by the British publication as saying the publishers made an offer he could not refuse.

"Prince will take readers on an unconventional and poetic journey through his life and creative work," a press statement obtained by the British publication noted. Prince was further quoted as saying he would begin his memoirs with his first memory and he had reached out to his brother Dan for help in piecing his story together.

For the singer of "Little Red Corvette" a "good critic" is what is needed to write a successful biography, the publication reported. The announcement of Prince's book was made amidst a distinguished gathering. Those included music industry professionals, journalists and musicians including Trevor Noah and Harry Belafonte.
