Alas, Zoom and The Flash intertwined once again but the Scarlet Speedster once again lost to the Earth-2 villain. Not only did Barry Allen lose the battle, he also had to give up his speed to Zoom, turning him back to a normal human being.

As a recap of "The Flash" Season 2 episode 18, the show began with a flashback of Hunter Zolomon/Zoom's past and as it turns out, he had a very traumatic childhood. His father killed his mother in front of him then took him to an orphanage. Lacking a strong support system, Zolomon became a serial killer and one day, while being experimented on, he turned to a speedster as well.

Back to Earth-1, Barry insisted to re-open a breach to the Earth where Zoom resides as he wants to stop him once and for all. Wielding the technology Eobard Thawne gave him, he finally surpassed Zoom's speed and was confident he could beat him.

Cisco, despite having second thoughts on using his powers, re-opened a breach, and Zoom immediately came out of it. With every trap set in place, Barry was able to pin down Zoom thanks to Harrison Wells and Caitlyn Snow. However, Allen underestimated the villain and was able to get out of the shackles.

As Barry, Joe and Iris went back home, their house was a mess and Zoom demanded that Barry give up his speed in exchange for Wally's life. Left without an option, Barry lets Zoom take his speed but the villain takes Caitlyn with him. Left powerless, it will be interesting to see how Barry will try to protect Central City without his powers.

In the next episode, "Back to Normal," Barry will be powerless against meta-humans. Harrison Wells will be targeted by Griffin Grey, another villain, IB Times has learned.

For some "The Flash" Season 2 episode 20 spoilers, it appears that Rupture will be back to exact his revenge against The Flash, according to iDigital Times. Also, it looks like Barry and Iris will finally do something about their feelings for each other.

In the recent episode, Iris ditched her date, Scott, as she is now starting to realize that she and Barry are meant for each other. Here is a preview of next week's episode:
