‘Dragon Ball Super’ episode 40 recap and review: Goku and Hit brofist! Plus a bizarre episode [SPOILERS]

"Dragon Ball Super" episode 40 recap

The episode titled "The Conclusion At Last! Who Will Prevail? Beerus, or Champa? Begins with Goku launching the Kamehameha and going for the punch and there is a massive explosion. Fans get to see Monaka's reaction. Yes, he reacts.

Vados and Whis close the barrier in order to stop the explosion from harming the audience. Hit reveals that his Tokitobashi technique has improved and he is able to dodge Goku's Kamehameha.

They both smile and brofist each other. Goku and Hit resume their fighting stance. Meanwhile, Champa is angry that Hit is not treating the battle like a battle. He wants him to finish Goku as soon as he can.

Hit doesn't agree with Champa and wants to fight with his integrity intact. No cheap tricks there from Hit.

They start to power up again and this time, Vados is worried that the immense power generated might break the barrier. Soon, Hit begins a series of attacks and ends with a huge right hand in the gut. Goku is going down but he powers back up and hits him in the face with his right hand.

Hit is surprised after he faces the punch but Goku is in pain and is breathing heavily.

Later, Goku turns to Beerus and proposes that the rules of the game must be changed and it should be turned into a death match.

The only way Hit can go all out is when killing is allowed in the match. Champa is delighted with Goku's proposal but Beerus is not happy with the idea.

Beerus and Champa fight with each other and Goku and Hit just look at them.

Hit tells Goku that they are pawns in the battle and Goku says that they are for now. Soon, Goku steps out of the barrier and is disqualified.

Yes, he eliminates himself. Now, it is Monaka vs. Hit.

It looks like Goku knew that he could not take on Hit that day as his body was unable to take the Kaio-Ken.

Piccolo arrives and carries the wounded Goku after he falls down.

Monaka enters the ring and he looks nervous. Here comes the crazy part, Monaka charges towards Hit and hits him in the knee. Hit looks at Monaka. And Hit just flies back to eliminate himself.

Monaka is the official winner and Lord Beerus' team wins.

Champa is furious and he decides to kill his team members. Goku wants to intervene but Beerus states that it is Champa's team, let him do what he wants.

Champa is all set to kill Hit and Vados interrupts him and asks him to look in the ring.

It is Zenō and his two guards. He is the ruler of all the universes. Beerus and Champa are scared of him.

"Dragon Ball Super" episode 41 to pick things up from episode 40 and fans will see the golden dragon.
