Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder won't have children anytime soon.

Just recently, the "Sleepy Hollow" actress attended an Earth Day event organized by Kiehl's.

While there, she spoke with E! News about the different causes she's actively involved in.

The conversation led to the actress being asked whether or not she and husband Somerhalder are already contemplating about having kids.

Reed said that it's something that they are talking about or basically it's "in the cards."

This immediately led fans to speculate that Reed and Somerhalder have already set a timeline for the former's pregnancy. However, this isn't the case.

Just a few months ago, "The Vampire Diaries" actor said that he is hopeful that his children would also be involved in the same causes that he and Reed are a part of. This includes animal rights and environmental causes.

However, Somerhalder has never said anything about having children very soon.

Still, fans are pleased enough with the fact that the two are at least considering having children.

Meanwhile, it is for certain that Reed and Somerhalder will be very good parents. Earlier this year, the couple spoke with Entertainment Tonight about babies in general.

At that time, he said, "Well, you know, babies are the coolest little things in the world."

In other news, "The Vampire Diaries" was recently renewed for another season.

Somerhalder released a statement following the announcement by The CW by saying that the series could most likely end after season 8.

Fans immediately reacted on social media, but Somerhalder was quick to clarify that he didn't mean the series will end after season 8. Rather, he meant that he will be leaving the franchise at the end of the upcoming season.

Even though Somerhalder retracted his statement, executive producer Julie Plec previously said that "The Vampire Diaries" will say goodbye to its viewers when Somerhalder and his co-star Paul Wesley will be ready to leave the show as well.

Since Somerhalder will be leaving "The Vampire Diaries" after season 8, what would the show be like if only Wesley will be there?

"The Vampire Diaries" season 7 airs Fridays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
