New details were leaked about "Star Wars: Episode 8" that may reveal about the future of the Resistance and the mind boggling origin of Rey.
The latest feature in the "Star Wars" franchise, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," shattered film gross records when it premiered in December 2015. In its entire worldwide theatrical run, the movie earned a whopping $2.066 billion dollars - making it the highest grossing "Star Wars" feature of all time. Because of the revival's success, a sequel to the current storyline has been green lighted and is already in the thick of filming. Moreover, details about the sequel's plot and casting have made its way online.
According to Redditor LouEvilOne in a Reddit thread dedicated to "Star Wars 8" spoilers, the working title for the eighth episode of the "Star Wars" franchise is "Echoes of the Dark Side." The movie would feature Rey in hiding and training in the way of the force with Jedi master, Luke Skywalker. In order to draw Rey out of hiding, Kylo Ren manages to capture Finn and Poe.
Moreover, the leak claimed that much of Rey's background would be revealed in the upcoming movie. LouEvilOne claims that the mysterious Rey is a reincarnation of Anakin Skywalker, which explains why she is powerful even before Jedi training.
"Rey is the reincarnation of Anakin Skywalker. Luke went to the first Jedi temple to better understand how the process works. He learned that the spirit of the chosen one is reincarnated by the Force every time the universe is thrown out of balance, which apparently happens on a semi-regular basis," read a part of the thread.
Elsewhere, IGN recently reported that Prince William and Harry would be making a cameo in "Star Wars: Episode 8." It is said that the two British royalties would be playing Stormtroopers. They would be in full Stormtrooper gear and would be featured in a scene in which Rey and Finn infiltrate a secret base.
Neither the production nor representatives from the British throne have commented on the cameo. Likewise, the leaked plot on Reddit has yet to be confirmed. Nonetheless, the filming of "Star Wars: Episode 8" has begun filming in February, and is scheduled to premiere on Dec. 15, 2017.
