Meanwhile, it is also rumored that Martin has taken the help of a co-author Neil Gaiman to wrap up the book. Gaiman is the popular author of   "American Gods," "Stardust," "The Graveyard Book," and "Coraliane."

Furthermore, the book is expected to contain the true details about Jon Snow's parents and how he came to be known as the illegimanate son of Ned Stark. It may also focus a lot on Sansa Stark, who may birth an heir to the Boltons.

Moreover, Martin had revealed in an interview to Entertainment Weekly, that "Winds of Winter" will contain some unexpected twists regarding a character, who is dead on the TV show, but not in the book. Currently, the TV show is not following the book, unlike the previous seasons.

Earlier, it was hoped that the book would release in March, before the "Game of Thrones" Season 6 premiere. However, it was not the case, as Martin was suffering from writer's block and he could not finish the book, on-time.

Moreover, his numerous public appearances and his involvement in the TV script of the book also contributed to the delay in releasing the much-anticipated book. In order to focus solely on wrapping up the book, Martin has canceled numerous public appearances at conventions, so that it gets time to write.

He wrote in his journal Not a Blog, that he also had hoped for the book to release before the "Game of Thrones" Season 6 premiere, but it was not to be. This saddened him and the millions of fans, no end. He also wrote that he was innduanted with queries about a possible release date for the book, which irritated him a lot.
