Logitech's $99 iPad Pro Logi Base is making the most out of Apple's Smart connector by charging, and at the same time, holding an iPad in a great angle for a better view of apps and media content.

With this at hand, it is now possible to charge the 9.7 and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models cable-free in landscape mode. To help align the iPad Pro with the Smart Connector, magnets in the charging cradle guide the device into the appropriate position, PC Magazine reported.

The lightning cable then connects on the back of the base, so users do not have any "Unsightly" cords dangling off the edge of their iPad Pros. As for the dock itself, it includes a rubber bottom that holds the tablet firmly in place.

Made of solid aluminum that matches the silver iPad Pro models, the Logi Base has three smart connector prongs that fit into the smart connector port of the device to deliver power whenever it is sitting on the stand. The lighting port is located right in the middle of the stand itself.

The iPad Pro Logi Base has an upright viewing angle that is ideal for using the device as a second screen or for viewing media. According to Mac Rumors, the base is convenient and versatile and getting able to stick the iPad onto the dedicated dock seems to be quicker than plugging it through the Lighting Port.

The rubber at the bottom and the big size of the base ensure that the stand is sturdy, although there is not much surface that holds the iPad in place. Therefore, it is worth employing some caution because the device can get knocked over in an accident.

With iPad Pro's Logi Base, the tablet can only be positioned in landscape mode during charging because of the location of the Smart Connector. However, this does not rule out the actuality that it can still hold the iPad in portrait mode without any problems.

While on the Base, the iPad Pro will not be used with the Smart Keyboard, though it will still work well with standalone Bluetooth keyboards. What is more, the base will also support iPhones and iPads, but only as a stand.

At $99 in Apple Store, the iPad Pro Logi Base is a bit pricey, but then again, it is a sleek-looking gadget, according to gadget enthusiasts.
