‘19 Kids and Counting' alum Jessa Duggar doesn't want to raise her child based on how Michelle treated her?

"19 Kids and Counting" alum Jessa Duggar says she doesn't want to raise her son the same way her mom Michelle raised her.

While speaking with US Weekly, the TLC reality TV star said that she's very pleased with the fact that she and her husband are very individualistic when it comes to raising Spurgeon.

"That's the beauty of the individual family. No one is identical. There will be variations with little things here and there, but I know that our foundational goals remain the same - to raise our kids to love God and be a blessing to others," she said.

Meanwhile, Duggar said that she doesn't really have such a hard time raising Spurgeon because she comes from a huge family and everyone is willing to help her out. In fact, whenever she runs to her mom for advice, she's always there for her too. However, Michelle always tells Duggar that she had to do things on her own too.

"Every time I come to my mom for advice, she always reminds me that I've got this. There's no pressure to do things just exactly how she did them, but I'm so grateful for all her advice and help. Even when I feel overwhelmed, she's always there to encourage me and tell me, 'You're doing a great job!' That gives me the courage to trust my instincts and do what I feel is best for my baby," Duggar shared.

In other news, Duggar and her husband Ben are very much open to adopting children in case they could no longer get pregnant.

While speaking to People a few months ago, the reality TV star said, "We hope to adopt a lot of kids... If God blesses us with biological kids of our own, it's not going to quench our desire to adopt."

At present, Duggar and her sister Jill appear in the "19 Kids and Counting" spinoff "Jill & Jessa: Counting On." The TLC reality TV show is rumored to be canceled at the end of season 1.

"Jill & Jessa: Counting On" will air its finale episode on May 3 on TLC.
