Apple Company is reportedly taking on Google's Street View Search app with their own version but with the same functionalities. The iPhone giant is getting it on with competitor Google Android with its street view search.
A minivan was spotted circling around the San Francisco with cameras on it. The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) confirmed that the vehicle was registered with Apple Company, Mail Online reported.
Apple removed Google maps on their iOS devices in 2012 to give priority on their own Apple maps but their version does not have the street view capability. Speculations still remain that the vehicle may have been testing some self-driving advancements.
Apple has remained quiet and has not commented on this incident as of yet.
Over the years, Google has been driving around here and everywhere to be able to provide more updated versions of the Google Street View for all its Android users. As to date, Apple seems to have jumped into the competition of the Street View services. The iPhone tech giant is upgrading its Web offerings, according to PC Mag Asia.
The mini-van that was circling around Claycord California has an eagle-eye camera attached to it, according to a Bay area blogger who spotted the vehicle. There were no logos or signs on the vehicle that would tell who owns it, only the DMV was able to identify that it is under Apple Company.
Apple Maps has been useful but it needed the Street View functions, with this said, the iPhone tech giant posted a job opening for an Engineering Project Manager.
"Apple seeks a technical, driven and creative program manager to manage backend operations projects for a search platform supporting hundreds of millions of users," according to the job posting.
