Verona, who had been in the cellar of the league table for most of the season, is now officially demoted to the Serie B as they are 10 points below the safety zone with only two games left in their campaign this term.

The team lost four of its last six matches but were still able to pull off upset wins late in the season against middling tem Bologna and contending club AC Milan.

Gialloblu lost a close 0-1 game to another contending team, US Sassuolo Calcio, on the road at the Mapei Stadium - Città del Tricolore last Sunday after their impressive win over Milan, via Forza Italian Football.

Italian midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini scored the lone goal of the match at the 58th minute for the hosts following a scoreless first half action.

Despite the shutout, it was head coach Luigi Delneri's squad who started livelier as Hellas' Polish winger Pawel Wszolek attacked the goal early in the match, but his shot was ultimately saved by I Neroverdi goalkeeper Andrea Consigli.

Meanwhile, Juventus won its fifth consecutive Scudetto as they are 12 points ahead of second-running team SSC Napoli in the overall standings with only two matchdays left in the season.

Manager Massimiliano Allegri's side has won 25 of their last 26 games in the Italian top flight en route to the title after struggling to find their game in the beginning of the term.

Their last match was a 2-0 crushing of lowly team Carpi FC at the Juventus Stadium last Sunday, as reported by Goal.

Brazilian winger Hernanes struck first three minutes before the halftime break while Italian striker Simone Zaza sealed the game with ten minutes left in the clock on the way to another dominating performance by the reigning champions.

The predicted result is a 3-0 rout for Juventus.
