It looks like a huge reunion is brewing as the members of the squad that took the WWE Universe by storm in recent memory, The Shield, may be forming an alliance against a common foe.
Current WWE Heavyweight champion is dominating the scene as he defeated AJ Styles in the recently concluded "Payback" PPV event. They will have a rematch on "Xtreme Rules" which is three weeks away. In the May 3 episode of RAW, Styles were assisted by Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, hinting that the trio will later on become a stable. Despite resisting the help, Styles is getting accustomed to it in every episode.
This could pose as a problem for Reigns who only have The Usos to back him up. Should the team of Styles, Gallows and Anderson gang up on the Rabid Dog, he may walk away hurt every night, costing him his title. Moreover, Finn Balor is said to make his move to RAW as well after his main event match with Samoa Joe in NXT and join the stable of Gallows and Anderson, Sports World News reported.
That makes four stars antagonizing Reigns, which will make it hard for him to defend himself. This leads to speculations that Reigns will have his brother in arms Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins assist him when that happens. Ambrose and Reigns have maintained their close relationship since their group disbanded. However, that is not the case for Rollins, who betrayed the two and sided with the Authority before getting injured.
Another factor that will kick in is Rollins' knee injury, which the WWE is not giving much update on. Despite that, fans are positive that he will be back to action soon as Bleacher Report reported that he is now back to 100 percent and is ready to compete.
Now, the big question mark is how the three would be able to mend their broken relationship. More often than not, wrestlers coming back from injury are well received by fans, which automatically make them a face. It would be interesting to see if Rollins will finally forfeit his allegiance with The Authority and reprise his role as The Architect for The Shield.
