Samsung Galaxy S3 has not received the Android Marshmallow update despite the fact that the release of Android N is imminent. The company has not released any official statement regarding its plans to release the update for Galaxy S3.

Verizon users of LG G2 were lucky enough to get Android Marshmallow. Other network carriers such as AT&T, Sprint and US Cellular are expected to release the update soon.

On the other hand, network carrier T-Mobile has confirmed that it will not release the update for its LG G2 users. The device is not mentioned in the list of smartphones, which are going to get Android Marshmallow on T-Mobile's support page.

Earlier this year, there were rumors that Android Marshmallow may be released for Samsung Galaxy Note 3 when the update was rolled out for its successor Galaxy Note 4. In fact, it seems to be the last official operating system update for Galaxy Note 4 as the device is now too old to support future software enhancements.

However, users of Samsung Galaxy S3, Sony Xperia Z1 and LG G2 can still enjoy the awesome features of Android Marshmallow on their smartphones by flashing their devices and downloading custom ROM's of the operating system.

Users need to download the custom ROM's with immense caution as it can also brick the device. They need to follow all the instructions of the developers to install Android Marshmallow safely on their devices.

There are also expectations that private developers may release the custom ROM of Android N after its official launch. Samsung Galaxy S3, Sony Xperia Z1 and LG G2 users can then unofficially install the Android N firmware on their respective devices.
