Good news Sherlock fanatics, as "Elementary" has been renewed for Season 5. "Elementary" Season 5 may feature John Noble and Natalie Dormer as regular characters from Season 5 onwards.

The fourth season of the detective-themed CBS series "Elementary" has finally come to an end. The recently-concluded season brewed interesting twist and turns for the show, particularly showcasing the deep father-son relationship between Morland Holmes (John Noble) and Sherlock. By taking over Jamie Moriarty's organization, Morland has ensured his son's protection.

"Elementary" Season 5 is officially confirmed by season as part of its 11 renewals for its 2016-2017 television lineup, Den of Geek reported. CBS was not consistent with the release dates of previous "Elementary" seasons, as the first two seasons came out in September, while the third and fourth were released in Oct. 30. While there remains no certainty as to the exact date of release for "Elementary" Season 5, it can at least be expected to premiere in fall 2016.

Following the events of "Elementary" Season 4, the upcoming season will undergo several changes. The task is complete for Morland, who has left New York to live in London, which means viewers will be seeing less of him. That said, Noble will not be a regular cast member in the fifth season, TV Line reported.

"This was always the plan that we would have John aboard for Season 4," after which he would make his exit, the show's executive producer Rob Doherty said. "We wanted Morland - and, by extension, John - to help us define Season 4, and he absolutely did that. I feel like we told the one long story we wanted to, but we [also] got to tell a lot of smaller stories about Sherlock and his father, and then Morland trying to develop a relationship with Joan. We feel like we did everything we set out to do."

But that does not mean fans will not be getting any action from Noble anymore. Doherty assured that they have left a door very open for him in "Elementary" Season 5.

As for Dormer, who played Moriarty in seasons one to three, there is still a lot of debate concerning her return to the series. The main issue, however, is whether the actress would have time to film "Elementary" Season 5 as she is already preoccupied with "Game of Thrones" and other feature film appearances.
