Struggling team Everton FC (10-13-14, 44 points) is booked to square off with relegated squad Norwich City FC (9-21-7, 34 points) in their 2015-2016 Premier League season finale on May 15th, Sunday at the Goodison Park.
Everton is at the 12th spot of the Premier League table as it reaches its final matchday this weekend. They are 10 points above the bottom three relegation area, which means they are safe to stay in the English top flight next term.
However, the team is way below the top six teams that have gained spots in the Champions League and Europa League competitions for the following season. They are 18 points behind sixth-placed team West Ham United, who currently holds the second and final Europa League qualifying berth.
The Toffees suffered a second consecutive loss in their penultimate match this season on Wednesday as they fell to lowly squad Sunderland AFC, 0-3, at the Stadium of Light, as per BBC Sport.
Sunderland defender Patrick van Aanholt netted the opening goal at the 38th while teammate Lamine Koné scored a double at the 42nd and 55th to complete the hosts three-goal haul and hand Everton their fifth winless game in the visitors' last six outings.
Meanwhile, Norwich City were officially demoted back to the Football League Championship even after they pulled off a convincing victory over Watford FC, 4-2, at their home ground of Carrow Road also on Wednesday, via SkySports.
Hornets forward Troy Deeney opened scoring at the 11th minute before Norwich took the lead with two goals at the 15th and 18th courtesy of Nathan Redmond and Dieumerci Mbokani. An own goal by Craig Cathcart made it 3-1 for the Canaries at the half.
Both teams traded one goal apiece in the second half as Watford's Odion Ighalo scored at the 51st while Mbokani netted his second one at the 57th for the final count.
The Black Cats' win against the Toffees made them four points adrift of the bottom three area, which left the Canaries, Magpies, and Villans all relegated to the Championship next season.
Norwich was promoted to the English top flight this season after a third place finish in the second division last season. Following a dismal campaign this term, they are now relegated back where they came from.
The predicted result is a close 1-0 win for Everton.
