Sechs Kies is preparing for their very first official comeback after suddenly disbanding in 2000. The group is returning to the music scene under YG Entertainment, and it was reported that the members were given the best treatment when they were offered a contract that was drafted with the same terms as with YG's biggest and most-prized group, Big Bang.

Likewise, the legendary idol group is finally returning after 16 years, and their fans are very happy to hear the news. However, only five members have signed the exclusive contract with YG so it is still to be seen whether Ko Ji Yong will be able to join the group so they can return as a whole, The Chosun Ilbo reported.

"We recently inked contract with five members of boy band Sechs Kies. Eun Ji Won, Lee Jae Jin, Kim Jae Duc, Kang Sung Hoon and Jang Su Won will record and release new album with YG," Inquirer quoted the YG spokesperson as saying.

The rep added that all five members did not have many objections and they mostly have the same opinions so the contract was signed within just an hour after it was presented to them on May 11, Wednesday. As for the possibility of Ko's participation in the comeback, it remained open as YG chief Yang Hyun Suk is planning to talk to him personally.

It can be recalled that Ko totally left the entertainment industry after Sechs Kies broke up. He went to United States to study and later set up his own business in South Korea. He completely returned to life of an ordinary citizen so it is not easy for him to promote as a celebrity again.

At any rate, Sechs Kies is a popular boy band in the 90s. They debuted in 1997 and became the immortal rival of SM Entertainment's H.O.T. Unlike most idol groups, Sechs Kies did not break up because they were no longer popular. In fact, the members went on their separate ways while at the peak of their popularity, and this was why the fans were really devastated when they announced the disbandment 16 years ago.
