Alberto Del Rio and Paige is the WWE's newest couple after photos of them kissing set the internet on fire last week. However, the latest rumors imply that Charlotte was also involved with Del Rio and it is causing a real-life tension with Paige.
The 38-year-old veteran wrestler was confirmed to be dating the 23-year-old Paige after photos of the two getting comfy with each other at Disney's Magic Kingdom surfaced online. Many fans were speculating that it was just a storyline for the "Total Divas" TV show, but apparently it was the real thing.
Paige and Del Rio have already been dating for months, probably after she broke up with her boyfriend in February. She was previously engaged to A Day to Remember guitarist Kevin Skaff and his proposal was shown in an episode of "Total Divas."
However, before Del Rio dated Paige, he was romantically involved with current WWE women's champion Charlotte. According to Ringside News, there is real backstage heat between the two friends due to their involvement with the four-time WWE World champion.
The tension between the two women was the reason they were booked against each other in last week's episode of Monday Night Raw. WWE chairman Vince McMahon is a fan of real-life issues and likes to incorporate it in his storylines.
It is now expected that Paige will be the next challenger for Charlotte's women's title after her program with Natalya finishes at "Extreme Rules." McMahon has reportedly instructed the WWE creative team to come up with new ideas for a Paige-Charlotte feud.
The two former NXT standouts have previously fought last year, but it was quickly shelved following a controversial remark by Paige towards Charlotte's dead brother. Nonetheless, it will be a very interesting story to watch out for in the coming months.
According to Forbes, it will not be the first time that the WWE will use a love triangle story on television. In 2005, Matt Hardy and Edge were involved in a feud centered on Lita, who cheated on the former with the latter.
The feud felt real in the eyes on the public and it made Edge into a big superstar despite the bad thing he did. It won't also be the first relationship in the WWE as many real-life couples like John Cena and Nikki Bella, Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, Dean Ambrose and Renee Young, Rusev and Lana, Zack Ryder and Emma, and The Miz and Maryse are known publicly.
