"The Vampire Diaries" season 8 will reportedly feature Nina Dobrev in the flesh.

Just recently, the finale episode for the hit The CW series reminded viewers of what it's like to have Dobrev's Elena Gilbert there.

Even though Dobrev's face wasn't exactly shown in the series, fans were able to hear her voice inside the Armory vault talking to Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder).

With this, viewers are concluding that there is a huge hope that Dobrev will say yet to actually appearing on "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 especially if this will be the last season for the series.

While speaking with TV Line, executive producer Julie Plec shared how she came up with the decision to re-invite Dobrev back.

"It is what she and I kind of agreed on when she decided to move on, and it is what I have got in my head. Obviously things can change throughout time, if the show goes on longer than we expect it to, or if we all collectively decide it would be fun to bring her back earlier, and she wanted to. But in my opinion, she was very clear about what she wanted the next step of her life to be, and she is doing a great job achieving that. So I am sticking with my side of the plan, which is to bring her back to the very end," she said.

Meanwhile, Hollywood Life previously made a conclusion about Dobrev's return to "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 finale episode.

According to the publication, Dobrev is very much on board with Plec's desire to have her back on the hit The CW show.

"When the show ends Nina will be a part of it in some way shape or form. She is 10,000 percent coming back," a source told the publication.

In other news, "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 is expected to feature more and more interesting storylines in relation to Damon, Bonnie (Kat Graham), Caroline (Candice Accola-King), Stefan (Paul Wesley), Matt (Zach Roerig) and Alaric (Matt Davis).

"The Vampire Diaries" season 8 will premiere on The CW sometime this fall.
